Amoxicillin Soluble Powder 10% (Qing Jun Jin Ling)

【Main Ingredient】 Amoxicillin.

【Characteristics】 This product is a white or off-white powder.

【Pharmacological Action】Pharmacodynamics: Amoxicillin is a β-lactam antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Its antibacterial spectrum and activity are basically the same as ampicillin, but its activity against most Gram-positive bacteria is slightly weaker than penicillin. It is sensitive to penicillinase, so it is ineffective against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It has strong effects against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Brucella, and Pasteurella, but these bacteria can easily develop resistance. It is not sensitive to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Because its absorption in monogastric animals is better than ampicillin and it achieves higher blood concentrations, it is more effective for systemic infections. It is suitable for respiratory, urinary, skin, and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Pharmacokinetics: Amoxicillin is quite stable in stomach acid. After oral administration in monogastric animals, 74%–92% is absorbed. The contents of the gastrointestinal tract affect the absorption rate but not the extent of absorption, so it can be administered in feed. At the same oral dose, the serum concentration of amoxicillin is 1.5–3 times higher than that of ampicillin.

【Drug Interactions】

(1) When used together with aminoglycosides, it can increase the concentration of the latter inside bacterial cells, showing a synergistic effect.

(2) Rapid-acting bacteriostatic agents such as macrolides, tetracyclines, and amphenicols may interfere with the bactericidal effect of this product and should not be used together.

【Indications】 β-lactam antibiotic. Used for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin in chickens.

【Usage and Dosage】 Based on this product.

Oral administration: 0.2–0.3 g per 1 kg body weight, twice a day for 5 consecutive days.

Mixed in drinking water: 0.6 g per 1 L of water, for 3–5 consecutive days.

【Adverse Reactions】 It has a strong interfering effect on the normal gastrointestinal flora.

【Precautions】

(1) Forbidden during the laying period for laying hens.

(2) Not suitable for infections caused by penicillin-resistant Gram-positive bacteria.

(3) Prepare and use immediately.
